Everyday Makeup Look

16 August 2014

I thought I'd share a really natural, pretty look as my face of the day, as it's so easy but still looks super polished. I used a few different products to my usual makeup routine, and was really pleased with the results.

First of all I used the Benefit Stay Don't Stray primer underneath my eyes. I first got this last summer, and was far from impressed by it, but thought I'd give it another go as a primer for my concealer, as it'd be great to find something to prevent creasing under the eyes. On top of this I used my concealer-of-the-moment, the Benefit Erase Paste.

I applied the Pure CC Cream with the Real Techniques Expert Face Brush. The CC cream is actually my mother's, so I'd not tried it before. It gives a really dewy, healthy look, like you're lit from within. It has a nice consistency, with a light-to-medium coverage. A sweep of Soap & Glory One Heck of a Blot powder keeps it from being too much of a shine-fest. At £1.99, this might end up as an absolute bargain buy! To top my base off, I used the Maybelline SuperStay Better Skin Skin Perfecting Concealer to add a little more coverage to my oily areas (chin, nose etc).

On the cheeks, I used another bargain, the NYC Beautifying Blushable Cream Stick in pretty dusky rose shade, Soho Pink. For eyes, the CK One Eyeshadow in Evolved was swept over the lids with a fluffy brush. I used a brown pencil eyeliner on my waterline, and finished it off with a few coats of the Benefit They're Real mascara. I fell for this mascara last summer, but stopped using it after my full-size ran out. I've been using other mascaras since, but going back to a mini They're Real reminded me why I loved it.

For the brows, I used a new product, the Eylure Brow Crayon in Dark Brown. I've been wanting a darker brow shade, and this is a great, grey toned brown. It is precise and super long lasting. Hello new brow fave! Finally, I added a coat of a nude gloss on the lips. I went for the gorgeous NYX Gloss in Sugar Pie, one of my favourite lip gloss formulas.

What's your natural makeup routine?
