December Beauty Favourites

24 December 2014

I'm going to kick off my December Favourites with a few bits from The Body Shop. I recently bought the Vanilla Brulée Hand Cream and it has fast become my most reached for scent! At first I wasn't that excited about their Christmas range, but I tried this cream in store and fell for it's delicate creamy vanilla scent.

I neglected them after buying them around October time, but this month I've been reaching for the Seaweed Mattifying Day Cream (£12) & Clarifying Toner (£7) most days. The moisturiser is a lovely consistency and seems to suit my oily skin. The toner is really refreshing, and both smell lovely! It's a really aquatic fragrance, that I'd liken to the Yankee Candle scent, Turquoise Sky.

The final Body Shop product I'm loving is the All-In-One Instablur Primer (£14). I adored this back when I purchased it a few months ago, but switched back to the Benefit Porefessional as I found the Instablur balled with the La Roche Posay Effeclar Mat moisturiser I was using. However I'm back with my love affair with the Instablur. I honestly believe it is ever so slightly better than the Benefit offering. A few of you have said you'd be interested in a review, so stay tuned for my Primer Edit coming soon!

I've been reaching for the MUA Undress Me Too Palette (£4) which I reviewed back in November. I like a few of the shimmery shades, but lately I've been loving the shade Obsessed, a satin deep chocolate brown. I've been using it in the crease or under the eye for a Cheryl inspired look, I just find it so versatile. I have to give some love to my favourite eyeshadow this whole season, the L'Oréal Color Riche L'Ombre Pure Nude Shadow (£5.49) in Over The Taupe. I adore the gold-brown-taupe hybrid shade, and I'm in love with the gel infused formula. Just. So. Buttery!

I've been obsessed with the GOSH Forever Eyeshadow Sticks (£6.29) in Brown and Silver Rose. I use Silver Rose as a base for shadows such as MAC All That Glitters and L'Oréal Over The Taupe. I like to use Brown under the eye, and up through the crease. Blended out it becomes sheer with bronzey glitter, and is the perfect gritty shade for a smokey eye.

I've fallen head over heels for Diptyque Philosykos (from £60 for 50ml), and sadly I've come to the end of my sample. Fig is totally my favourite scent, and this is so wearable. It's completely different to any department store scent, and I am definitely going to have to purchase a full size!

Finally, on to hair. I've been enjoying using the VO5 Nourish My Shine Miracle Illuminator (£4.99). I squeeze a pea sized amount into my hands and rub onto the ends of my hair when it's wet. It smells lovely and I totally feel like I'm on Hollyoaks seeing the pink VO5 products on my shelf. Damn product placement!

I hope you've enjoyed my December Favourites. I've got a Non-Beauty Faves post on the way in the next day or two, so make sure you catch that!
