January Favourites

5 February 2015

This month I've been saving the pennies, so I've included some "shop my stash" products, alongside some bits I got for Christmas, and only one or two new purchases. My first favourite of this month is a product I got in my Lush sale haulLush Honey I Washed My Hair Shampoo Bar is the first solid shampoo I've tried and I love how easy it is to use. It is really moisturising on my long hair and smells like toffee!

I switched to the Salt of the Earth Pure Aroma natural deodorant at the start of the month after reading a post on Niomi Smart's blog. I love that this is all natural, but still scented (it smells of lavender and vanilla FYI). Using this has definitely made me think twice about using aerosol deodorants.

I got the Sanctuary Deep Cleanse Facial Matte Perfecting Hydra Lotion for Christmas and I have been trialing it out this month. It's a really lightweight moisturiser, formulated for oily skin. I've found it to be a lovely base for makeup and really brightening too.

I actually got the Nip+Fab Glycolic Fix Exfoliating Face Pads last summer but dug them out at the start of this month. They are toner soaked pads aimed at retexturising the skin. They are lovely and easy to use, and I definitely think my skin looks brighter after use.

The Soap & Glory Facial Brush is a really recent purchase, but I fell for it hard and fast. I've never tried an electric facial brush like the Clarisonic, but wanted to try it for a tenth of the price. My face has never felt so clean!

Onto the makeup now, and the first I'd like to talk about is the Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet in Nude-ist. I loved the shade OlĂ© Flamingo and when I saw Nude-ist, I knew I had to have it. I wore it for a night out and it complimented my look perfectly. The long-lasting formula and stunning shade means has fit seamlessly into my makeup collection.

I've come back to the Benefit Erase Paste this month, as I've really needed some help in the dark circle department. This is quite a thick formula but delivers some serious brightening. Erase Paste is one I'm definitely falling for again.

I picked the Miss Sporty Studio Colour Quattro Eye Shadow in Smoky Rose up on a whim and I am actually really surprised by it! It gives a gorgeously wearable pink hued smoky eye.

I did a Body Shop perfume haul back in December, and two out of the three went straight into my Disappointing Products pile, but Japanese Cherry Blossom ended up being the shining star.
It is so pretty and fresh, perfect for daytime wear.

Another recent purchase is the NYC Cityproof Twistable Intense Lip Colour in Riverside Rose. This is a really lovely deep pink balm-like lip crayon. A great one to chuck in your bag for a hit of moisture and mirror-free colour.

Are any of these in your favourites this month?

  1. I've read a lot about Nip+Fab pads but have never tried it myself. Sounds like a really good product though, I'll need to track it down so I can pick up to try. Great favourites!

I haven't used Erase Paste in ages! I'll have to pick up another pot of that, I used to adore it! I love liquid, acid exfoliants and I'm running out of my Clarins Brightening Toner, so I may try the Nip + Fab Pads next!
