PapayaGold Paw Paw Moisturising Balm

17 April 2015

The PapayaGold Paw Paw Moisturising Balm* (£5.99) is a product I've seen popping up everywhere in the last year or so, but I've only just gotten around to trying it. I think I picked it up in Boots quite a while ago, but it didn't make it's way into my basket. Nevertheless, as with most hyped products, I wanted to see what all the fuss was about. Better late than never I'd say!

Paw Paw is a moisturising balm enriched with the magic ingredient, bio active Manuka honey 20+. This is especially awesome to speed up healing, so not only does Paw Paw soften the skin, it also restores. It is advised as being great for any dry, irritated or chapped skin, including those troubled with skin conditions such as eczema, psoriasis and dermatitis. Although I don't personally suffer from any of these, I know it's a rarity to find suitable products in the drugstore.

Initially I wasn't sure on the texture of this product before trying it, as I'm used to using creams instead of a thick balm, something I'm still getting used to. Paw Paw is unscented, which I have to say I was disappointed about. I almost expected it to smell of papaya. However the lack of scent does make it kinder to skin, which is always a bonus. My favourite way to use the Paw Paw balm is on my hands as it is a real rescue product that seems to sort out those pesky flaky patches in a flash. You know the kind that pop up when you've made a dodgy hand wash decision in Superdrug. Yes it smells like bubblegum or roses and yes, it destroys your hands.

I've also become partial to slathering Paw Paw on the lips too. It is such a multi use product so it is great to pop in your travel bag to save room instead of carrying about a separate lip balm and hand cream. Although winter has finally passed (yay!) this is one that'll be a real winner in the cold weather. I'm almost sorry I didn't pick this up sooner! It's such a multi-use product so you're never not going to have a need for it.

  4. I'd expect it to have a papaya scent as well since the brand has papaya in the name. But I have a sensitive skin so an unscented product is always a plus. And for that price you can never go wrong really!

  6. They should bring out a scented one! Gotta agree, it's such a bargain! I always thought it was more expensive than that.
