Estée Lauder X Kendall Jenner Pure Colour Envy Matte Sculpting Lipstick in Restless

When we first got wind of Estée Lauder's partnership with reality TV heiress turned the fashion's industry's newest darling Kendall Jenner, I think we were all a bit surprised. I had always considered Estée Lauder to be one of those classic brands, and at that point, I don't think people saw Kendall as a legitimate part of the fash-pack. Six months later, I'm eating my words, as not only has KJ achieved her lifelong dream of walking for Victoria's Secret, she is currently no.1 girl crush material in my eyes. Set to bring Estée Lauder to a younger target audience, Kendall Jenner has been the face of high profile campaigns for the brand, like Modern Muse Le Rouge and Double Wear Makeup To Go, but she has also collaborated with the brand to produce her own limited edition lip colour.

With my pale skin, a look I absolutely adore is minimal makeup, maybe a slick of liquid liner and a real pop of a bright orangey red on the lips. I tried the Rimmel Moisture Renew Lipstick in In Love With Ginger, and the shade was spot on. However I really cannot get on with bright or dark colours in moisturising formulas as they end up sliding halfway down my chin, so I've been looking for a similar shade with a matte formulation ever since.

The matte lipstick I had been looking for months came in the form of none other than the Estée Lauder Pure Colour Envy Matte Sculpting Lipstick (£25) in Restless. It is described by Estée Lauder as being "Part poppy. Part orange crush. All matte. All Kendall. It is a bright orangey red shade that really makes a statement. If you're looking for a lipstick to slick on to make you feel all sassy, then this is it. This isn't the shade for the wallflowers of the world.

Restless comes packaged in Estée Lauder's standard navy blue box, adorned with Kendall's signature. She has also made a mark on the top of the casing, which is in a matte navy with gold detailing and THE most satisfying magnetic closure. I was a bit disappointed to see that the lipstick itself wasn't embossed. I just think that it is one of the touches that makes a lipstick feel that little bit more high end. It does however have that familiar MAC vanilla scent to it, which is always a treat.

The formulation of the Pure Color Envy lipsticks is stunning. This is so creamy and moisturising that there is even the tendency to forget that it is matte. Now I don't know about you, but usually you know if you're wearing a matte lipstick. All the dryness, all the flaking... Estée Lauder's offering fortunately applies like a dream, giving a full pout in just one swipe. On application, it has a real neon pop to it, but to make it more wearable, I tend to blot it slightly and work it into my lips. The lipstick is long lasting, and stays put through a cuppa and a bite to eat.

Overall I am really impressed with both the formula and shade of this lipstick, and I'd definitely consider splurging on another shade in the Estée Lauder Pure Colour Envy Matte Sculpting line (do they really neeeed to make the name that long?). A high-end lipstick really does make you feel special, and this shade has become such a staple in my lipstick wardrobe.
