10 Things I Love Most About Autumn

1 September 2015

Autumn Leaves Outdoors Fall

Regardless of when it actually starts, I have always considered September to mark the start of autumn. The season where the leaves fall off the trees creating this golden rust on the ground. We can all go back and reminisce about being a child jumping on the crunchy leaves, and I can guarantee most of us still do it now (when we think no one is watching of course!). Here are 10 reasons why I love autumn, and what I'm most looking forward to in the upcoming season...

1) Lush Olive Branch Shower Gel (link)

This really smells of autumn with its combination of aromatic bergamot, mandarin and vine leaves. It is enriched with olive oil, so it keeps your skin super soft as the weather gets cooler too.

2) Diptyque Philosykos (link)

Autumn makes Philosykos really come alive as the cooler air brings out the woody notes in this yummy fig fragrance. You won't regret trying this, it has fast become my favourite scent.

3) Dressing like a Pretty Little Liar

Becoming obsessed with the show and their deep rusty colour palette in the midst of summer really doesn't work. Now I'll be able to channel my inner Aria/Emily/Spencer/Hanna (I can't pick a fave) to my hearts content.

4) Sweaters

Confession: YES it was the first day of autumn today, and YES, I wore a sweater. It felt great.

5) Spicy candles

I've already purchased a stash of cinnamon scented candles from good old Yankee. I'd love to be able to get my hands on the Bath & Body Works ones as they have ALL the pumpkin!

6) Fallen leaves

As the leaves change, it gives everything this autumn haze. In England we'll probably bypass all the prettiness, of course, and we'll go straight into rain rain rain. A girl can dream...

7) Cooler air

I just love the feeling of really crisp mornings, especially when you can still get away with not wearing a coat. Grab a scarf and you're ready to go.

8) Scarves

Ditto. My big black woollen snood made it's debut today, and it was so nice to snuggle into it when I got a bit chilly.

9) Dyeing my hair a burgundy hue

Last year I dyed my hair a deep purple, which made a lovely subtle change from its usual dark brown. It made everything pop, especially my eyes and I can't wait to do the same this year.

10) Starbucks Pumpkin Spiced Lattes

PSL, nuff said.

    1. I've been so keen for autumn with my sweaters and woolly scarves. It really isn't cool enough for them yet but I can pretend!
