Candles: PartyLite Christmas Collection

PartyLite Reminiscent Crimson Berry Candle Review Giveaway

Home fragrance is something that really comes into its own in the autumn/winter months. It can make a room feel comforting and cosy, as well as adding a bit of festive ambiance. There is something special about whipping the Christmas candles out for the first time, and filling the house with a little bit of magic.

I was given the chance to try home fragrance brand PartyLite back in September, and was thoroughly impressed at the quality of both the scents and accessories. When PartyLite offered the chance to test out (and giveaway!) a set of their Christmas products, I could hardly say no. As soon as the postman handed over my PartyLite parcel, the room was filled with the scent of crisp apples.

L>R: Crimson Berry, Iced Snowberries, Emerald Balsam

The first thing I unpacked was a beautiful set of candles; the Reminiscent Scented Mini Jar Trio* (£24.95). This contains three perfectly festive fragrances; Crimson Berry, Iced Snowberries and Emerald Balsam. Crimson Berry is described as having notes of "sparkling red berries, mingled with festive spices and caramel". This to me is the most traditional Christmas scent in the collection, due to the inclusion of the spice. This is by no means overpowering, and the berry still remains the most dominant note. It actually really reminds me of Ribena, which pleases me a lot.

Iced Snowberries is the scent in the white jar, which looks absolutely stunning when lit. "Discover the joy of the season's first snowfall. Icy freshness coats sweet berries and fruits". This is a subtle sweet scent that is very different from a lot of Christmas scents on the market. It is definitely inoffensive, and would even be a lovely inclusion to a table decoration.

The final scent in the trio is Emerald Balsam. The idea behind this scent is "the happiness of finding the perfect tree". The scent is constructed with notes of balsam and pine, and is the most masculine out of the three scents. I usually don't like pine scents as they remind me of the whole pine loo cleaner thing, but this has more of an aftershave and plaid shirt vibe. The Reminiscent trio comes in a beautifully decorated box, and would make the most gorgeous Christmas gift.

Also in the collection is the Enchanted Woodland Votive Hurricane* (£27.95). I've always seen hurricanes talked about on various candle Facebook groups, but never actually owned one. As well as looking utterly gorgeous and emitted a stunning, soft focus glow, a hurricane also works to create an even burn on your candles, and makes burning a candle a little safer as the flame is more contained. The Enchanted Woodland Hurricane comes in three parts; the base, the cylinder and a glass votive holder. Given the size, I'm sure you could also use this with larger candles too.

The final items kind of go hand-in-hand. The Snowflakes Glass Tea Light Holder Trio* (£19.95) contains beautiful red, silver and glass holders, etched with a classic snowflake design. These look so gorgeous with the Iced Snowberries Votives* inside, and give off a gorgeous glow. The votives come in packs of 6 and each last for 8-11 hours. I'll be putting these on the mantelpiece as they'll match so well with some of our existing Christmas decorations. I much prefer these classic tones to the more modern Christmas look.
