Now that I spend my days working from home, meal times are a lot more relaxed. I love food, but I have a small stomach and get full up really easily so I find it best to eat little and often. I'd been getting really weary come 4pm and in the evenings and I soon realised that it was because I wasn't snacking. At work I used to snack out of boredom, to stay focused, but at home I don't seem to need that motivation. I'd be so engrossed in
You might remember last year that I used to get Graze Boxes delivered every fortnight and actually blogged about them here and here too. I've decided to start getting Graze Boxes again as I always enjoyed getting a little weekly foodie surprise. I was delighted with my first box as it featured some of my favourite snacks: Smoky Chipotle Dip, Jaffa Cake and Vitamin C Crush, as well as New York Everything Bagel which was completely new to me. My Graze
snacks cover 4 out of 5 weekday mid-afternoon snacks, and they're in such handy portion sizes too, I usually end up
I'm also planning to sign up to Sourced Box, which is a monthly healthy treats subscription service created by YouTubers Naomi Smart and Marcus Butler, as well as Degustabox which I think will be great for some dinner inspiration as well as snacks. Talking of dinners, on Monday I have a Gousto box coming, which is a box containing all the ingredients you need to make 4 different meals. Can you tell I don't like going grocery shopping?
A serious fave snack-wise is apple and peanut butter, which I showed in my What I Eat In A Day post back in December. My favourite peanut butter is the Meridian Smooth as it really easy to spread onto the apple slices (chunky absolutely does not work for this!) and I love the natural taste and texture. I also love to eat dates when I'm having a bit of a craving for sweet things. The Medjool Dates are really squidgy and have a caramel-like flavour; so moreish! Staying on the sweet side, I can't not mention chocolate. I've really gotten into dark chocolate as of late, the darker the better. I like either Green & Blacks, or Aldi have some delicious single origin bars.
One of my favourite ways to up my protein intake is nuts. When I started my old job, I was so excited at the prospect of having healthy snacks by my desk, so I was more than a tiny bit devastated when I found out the workplace had a strict no nuts policy due to allergies. Another reason why I feel blessed to be going solo! I eat brazils or almonds as snacks, crumble walnuts onto my salads or chuck either a Nakd bar or Bounce Ball into my bag for snacking on the go. The Eat Natural bars are also really tasty, although I can't imagine them being the most saintly of options.
What do you like to snack on throughout the day?
