2014 was the year I really discovered skincare, and to be honest, I was only just getting started! There are so many products I discovered that I loved, but as always I already have the hugest list of products to try for 2015.
Very early on in the year, I discovered Liz Earle. This was probably my first proper skincare purchase, in the form of the Try Me Kit. I bought this with the premise of saving this for my holiday, but had a little mare with the monster I call Benefit It's Potent! and needed good skincare so much, I went out and bought another set. One of the heroes of that set was the famous Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser. Whilst I don't use this everyday, I feel like it deserves a special mention. It is a creamy cleanser that removes eye make up really well without a separate eye makeup remover. Now Cleanse & Polish is only really reserved for my travel makeup bag as I have so many other products I need to try!
Not a single moisturiser has come close to the La Roche Posay Effeclar Duo + this year. It's light gel formula seems to really suit my skin and while I can't say I've seen an improvement in blemishes, it makes a lovely base for makeup and isn't greasy. I bought the Effeclar Mat after almost nearing the end of Effeclar Duo + and it isn't even half as good!
The Sanctuary Deep Cleanse Facial 5 Minute Thermal Detox Mask was recommended to me by a fellow blogger on Twitter back in the summer. It has become a firm favourite and it's self-heating formula feels so spa-like! I find it detoxes the skin without being overly drying like a lot of masks, and it is pretty affordable so you can use a good amount without feeling guilty!
I just love the scent of the Superfacialist by Una Brennan Rose Hydrate Calming Creamy Cleanser. It is also really gentle and I like using this for my second cleanse.
The Liz Earle Instant Boost Skin Tonic was the first toner I ever tried and even now it is one I reach for the most. It smells absolutely gorgeous, with it's rose scented geranium and aloe formula and I find it really hydrating.
Worth a mention are the Liz Earle Muslin Cloths and Facial Sponges as I have used these consistently throughout the year. I love the sponges for removing masks and they feel really exfoliating whilst also being gentle.
The Nip + Fab Bee Sting Fix Eye was the first eye cream I tried, and whilst I don't think it's groundbreaking stuff, it is moisturising, gentle on the eyes and has a nice, thick texture.
NUXE RĂªve de Miel has to be the best lip balm I have ever tried. I've raved about it consistently on my blog, and I don't even need any other lip balms now. Apart from the ByTerry Baume de Rose, but that so isn't happening!
The final product in my skincare favourites is the Simple Kind To Eyes Revitalising Eye Gel. I love this cooling eye gel as it is so gentle on the eyes. I've tried similar products and they've really stung my sensitive eyes so I'm thrilled to have found this. I like to use it to wake up tired eyes in the morning, or last thing at night. It's great in the summer too.
