I haven't been wearing that much makeup throughout April, but I've been experimenting with lighter bases and fresher colours now that Spring is with us. If you follow me on Instagram, you'll know that I did a bit of a drugstore haul earlier in the month and quite a few of those products have gone slap bang right into my favourites.
Kicking the beauty faves off this month are three products I picked up from Makeup Revolution. I was seriously excited to see a brand new stand in my local Superdrug, and the product I beelined for was the Iconic Pro 2 Palette (£6.99). I was most eager to try out the matte shades, and they do not disappoint. This has even stopped me lusting after the Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette. The Golden Sugar Ultra Blush & Contour Palette (£6) was the one Makeup Revolution product I wasn't bothered about buying. I'd seen it on many blogs, and whiles there's no denying it's beauty, I didn't think it was for me. However I got itchy fingers when I saw it IRL and yep, it ended up in my basket. The shades are divine and a few have ended up in my daily arsenal.
It was just my luck that makeup was on 3 for 2 that day, so to complete the trio of Makeup Revolution products is the Awesome Double Flick Thick & Thin Eyeliner (£3.50). I've been calling on the thinner of the two felt tip ends for my cat flicks, and I'm finding it so easy to use. I'll be doing full reviews on these three products so keep an eye out for that. A product I've mentioned before on the blog is the Bourjois Rouge Edition Aqua Laque in Rosé on the Rocks (£8.99). I dismissed it initially for being a bit boring but it is the perfect lightweight daytime nude and I've been wearing it so much this month.
Spring is now upon us and the last thing on my mind is a cakey base. I've swapped out pressed powder and have been calling upon the Urban Decay All Nighter Makeup Setting Spray (£9) to fix my face. Interestingly I hated this product when I first bought it, but I find it stops my oily skin becoming grease-city whilst giving a natural glow. Who'd have thought that the queen of matte would go to the dark side.
I know I'm about a year too late, but I've been crazy about The Body Shop Early-Harvest Raspberry Body Butter (discontinued). This is actually the first body butter I've fallen for as I usually find it a massive faff, but I adore the scent of this. Moving on to skincare, and this month I finally had some Facetheory products drop onto my mat after months of waiting. I'll be doing a full review soon, but my favourite has been the M3 Supergel Moisturiser* (£17.50). It's not so much on the gel side, which was a surprise, but it has really hydrated my skin and got rid of any pesky dry patches. Despite trialing a Facetheory cleanser, there's no denying the fact that Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish (£9 for 50ml) is firmly back in my skincare routine. It has such a comforting creamy formula and the eucalyptus scent is awesome in the morning. This is one cleanser that I'm always going to have a bit of love for.
Earlier this month, I was gifted a few jewellery items from Frenchy May as a thank you for a post I wrote about them. The stand out piece? This beautiful Turquoise Necklace*. I'm a sucker for this shade, especially in jewellery, and I've been wearing it non-stop. Finally the Yankee Candle scent I've been burning most during April is Soft Blanket (£1.49). I wasn't keen on it at first, but it's so relaxing to burn before bedtime. I've been using the wax tarts in my electric burner which is an affordable way to try different scents.

I've always been a little skeptical of setting sprays because..well I don't know, maybe just the idea of spraying something on the face? But I have heard a lot of good things about the urban decay one and you've tipped me over the edge and now I want to try it! Great favorites lovely :) Holly x | http://thechroniclesofholly.com/
ReplyDeleteThanks Holly! I was so sceptical of it at first, but now I'm obsessed!

This necklace is absolutely gorgeous! I can't get over it! I love a good make up setting spray, I've never tried the Urban decay one, but I really like the kiko one, I think that my makeup looks less cakey when I use a spray than when I use a setting powder. I also really like the sound of the bourjois Aqua laque! Great favourites! :)

It's beautiful isn't it, I'm obsessed with turquoise jewellery! I'm so over using powder now. I bet the KIKO one is a good dupe :)
