I've recently become massively intrigued about the all-natural approach to life, whether that involves food, beauty or skincare. It is it's simplicity that has me particularly interested, so when I stumbled across Nature's Chemist Natural Skincare, I was eager to see what all the fuss was about.
I was recommended the Moisturiser for Oily Skin* (approx £27), which actually comes in oil form rather than a tradition cream or lotion. It is made up of a blend of essential oils specially chosen for their benefits for oilier skins. It contains jojoba and grapeseed oils, both great because of their super light textures, meaning they will absorb easily into the skin, without feeling to heavy. Jojoba oil is also brilliant for healing any acne scarring. Almond oil is a brilliant natural moisturiser, which will leave skin feeling silky smooth. Also present are meadowfoam, moringa, rose hip and tamanu oils. Finally, lavender oil is soothing and calming for the skin, and gives a gorgeously relaxing aroma. Packaging wise, it comes in a cute apothecary-style glass bottle with a dropper for fuss-free application.
I'd never properly tried a specific facial oil, bar the Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse, which although being multi-purpose, I'm pretty sure it's not ideal for use on the face. Initially I was a little bit stumped on how to apply this oil, as the Nuxe one I'd previously used had a dry oil texture and was a bit different. As time went on, I learnt to enjoy the feeling of the oil on my skin, especially at night time, as it is such a relaxing ritual. I love waking up with perfectly hydrated and super soft skin, without the greasiness.
Another winning method of applying the oil is to mix a few drops to amp up your usual moisturiser. These is a great way to introduce the use of oils in your routine, and is great for daytime if you don't want an oil underneath makeup. Combining the oil with a moisturiser creates a gorgeous gel texture, which is a dream to use.
Nature's Chemist is sold via etsy, and created by P.H.D. Chemist Dr Lori Culberson, who decided to approach skincare the scientific way after struggling with her skin for years. Within a month, her complexion had improved, so she wanted to share her secrets! There's a range of products, also including toners and serums, specially formulated to suit all skin types. Nature's Chemist are are based in the US, but they do ship to the uk, and even with shipping added on, the price is much better than paying Space NK prices!
I'm seriously happy I tried the Nature's Chemist Moisturiser for Oily Skin as I'd been wanting to add an oil into my routine, and had been looking ones from Kiehls and Sarah Chapman. I love applying the oil and doing a bit of facial massage, which has become a bit of a ritual at the end of a long day!

Maybe try it just at night?
ReplyDeleteI've heard that natural oils don't clog pores and can actually trick your skin that you're overproducing sebum, so balances out the oiliness over time :)
Loves! Kirstie
