Spring Beauty Essentials by The Lipstick Freak

5 April 2015

Hi there! I'm Sarah, a 21 year old college student and beauty addict from France. I am new to the blogging community, and when Kirstie asked me to guest post on her fabulous blog, I was thrilled to do it! So there you go. If you wanna know more about me, you can check out my blogTechnically, it's not spring yet, but I am SO ready for it to begin! So I made a little list of products that I think are really great for the spring season.

1. MAC 'Girl About Town' Lipstick: this one is a really bright Barbie/fuschia color. It's an Amplified Creme texture, so it applies really smoothly and stays on quite well. I think it's the perfect color for spring when you want to spice things up a little, but at the same time it's easily wearable. It's the kind of lipstick that makes you feel 10000+ times more confident once you apply it!

2. MAC Paint Pot in 'Rubenesque' : this is a lovely sheer peachy/rose shimmery color that is actually perfect for a single-shadow look. The texture is creamy, but quite buildable and it stays on FOREVER. I remember using this during the summer, forgetting to take it off before taking a dip in the swimming pool, and even afterwards, I still had it on. Perfect to brighten the eyes, but it needs a little bit of blending especially around the edges.

3. Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum Foundation : this is the foundation I've been loving for years, but I switched it up during winter time for the NARS Sheer Glow since it I needed more coverage. The Healthy Mix Serum is very light, but gives a light to medium coverage, which I think is more suitable for spring time when you want your skin to look a little bit more natural since it is a serum. The fruity-scent makes it perfect to wake you up in the morning, I absolutely adore it. But the greatest thing about this is that it's full of vitamins which give your skin that healthy glow we all crave for!

4. TheBalm 'Frat Boy' Blush : this provides a nice matte peachy/pink glow, it's super pigmented so a little goes a long way, but that's also what I love about it! You can use it to create a more dramatic look for night-time or keep it light by just dusting a little bit on your cheeks. It looks very natural!

5. Nina Ricci 'Si Lolita' Perfume : This one is unique. I've had it for quite a long time now but it still remains my go-to spring perfume. Unfortunately, I just found out it got discontinued! It's quite spicy, warm & sexy at the same time. Unlike other Nina Ricci's fragrances, this actually dries a bit woodier and you can definitely notice the bergamot, pink pepper, amber and patchouli in it. As time passes, during the day you start detecting a fruity floral scent, which is also why I love it so much during spring.

6. Urban Outfitters Blue Beaded Nail Polish : Finally, when it comes to nail polish, I know most people like to use pastel colors during spring, but I actually like to change it up by being a little bit bolder. This one is a white & cobalt, clear-based nail polish. You can either apply it as a top coat, or on its own (although you'd probably need several coats to make it look opaque). Either way, it's definitely worth the shot, especially considering the price. It also comes in purple!

Hopefully this article was somehow helpful to you or gave you some inspiration for the upcoming season! Special thanks to Kirstie for letting me write it :) That was really nice of you!
