5 Bloggers, 5 Spring Scents

Elie Saab L'Eau Couture Chloe Love Story

There's nothing I love more than chatting about perfume, so I rounded up five sassy members of The Girl Gang to share their top spring fragrance recommendations. As for me? I'm still surgically attached to my Diptyque Philosykos, which has become somewhat a signature in recent times, yet I'm being tempted by lighter floral fragrances the more the sun begins to emerge. One that I purchased last year is Elie Saab L'Eau Couture, a ethereal twist on the original to mimic the airiness of floaty couture fabrics. The classic orange blossom scent is given a dose of green almond to create a soft, sweet, girlie scent that is perfect for this time of year. We all know I'm a huge fan of Chloé Love Story (because I've been banging on about it/Instagramming aplenty), but more on that later...

PACO RABANNE OLYMPÉA

RECOMMENDED BY KATIE FROM KNEL

Eau de Parfum
Top notes: green mandarin, jasmine, ginger flower
Heart: vanilla, salt
Base notes: ambergris, cashmere wood, sandalwood
from £40 for 30ml - Link

"This was a perfume that I didn't think I'd like when I saw the notes written down, but it has totally won me over! I didn't think would be to my usually fruity taste at all, however, it's the perfect balanced perfume! I love that it is a sexy, sensual scent, but at the same time it isn't too heavy. It's the perfect exotic, sweet and musky evening perfume, but it's not too much to wear in the daytime because it has a fresh and light tone. And on top of all this, the bottle is simply stunning!"

"My favourite spring scent this year is the Chloe Love Story perfume, it’s both fresh and floral at the same time which I think is perfect for this time of year. The packaging is also just so divine, it really has a romantic feel to it which makes me feel all girly and special, I love it! To find out more, read my review."

As I mentioned before, I've been fangirling all over the shop about Love Story, and I've also reviewed it here.

Jo Malone Devoted to Pink

JO MALONE GRAPEFRUIT

RECOMMENDED BY LEAH FROM DEVOTED TO PINK

Eau de Cologne
Top notes: Grapefruit, Tangerine
Heart: Rosemary, Mint, Paprika, Jasmine
Base notes: Vetiver, Patchouli, Oakmoss
from £42 for 30ml - Link

"My chosen springtime fragrance has got to be a recent discovery of mine; Jo Malone Grapefruit. Although Jo Malone has long been one of luxury favourites, I haven't really ventured from my trusted scents that I know and love. Now don't let the name put you off this gorgeous smell. Some of Jo Malone's colognes have some interesting names that wouldn't make you want to grab a bottle and spritz it all over you - I mean Wood Sage & Sea Salt does not sound appealing but it’s my number one! Grapefruit has a zesty citrus smell which is so uplifting and refreshing that it’s perfect for spring, and it will make you smile even on the dullest of days."

CHANEL CHANCE EAU TENDRE

RECOMMENDED BY KARA FROM SPREAD THE SPARKLE

Eau de Parfum
Top notes: Grapefruit, Quince
Heart: Jasmine, Hyacinth
Base notes: Musk, Iris, Virginia Cedar, Amber
from £55 for 50ml - Link

"Chanel’s Chance Eau Tendre is the first ‘posh’ perfume I ever owned and thus carries a lot of nostalgia for me. It’s one of those items that I will forever repurchase – a heavenly every day fragrance that brings a smile to my face and brightens my mornings within a couple of sprays. Delicate, fresh and light – a spritz to the base of the neck and wrists is all you need to accompany you ino the sunshine."

This is just one of Kara's spring scents - you can read all about her other two favourites here.

MARC JACOBS DECADENCE

RECOMMENDED BY JENNY FROM BORN TO BLEND

Eau de Parfum
Top notes: Plum, Iris, Saffron
Heart: Bulgarian Rose, Jasmine Sambac, Orris
Base notes: Amber, Vetiver, Papyrus
from £49 for 30ml - Link

"What feels like almost forever ago, I was very kindly given Marc Jacobs Decadence for Christmas. I have worn this almost daily since then and am still madly in love with its luxurious scent. Decadence is described as a sensual, woody fragrance, with notes of plum, iris, saffron and liquid amber. It's super long wearing and a gorgeous fragrance for all occasions."

I hope this has given you some inspiration if you're yet to find yourself a spring scents. Thanks to my five gorgeous bloggers for sharing their favourites. All have amazing blogs, so if you're in need of something new to read, don't forget to check them out!
