Although I haven't been buying as many beauty products recently, there have been quite a few new releases that have tickled my fancy so I thought it was about time I did another Lust List. This month it is mostly dominated by face products, namely highlighters. There's just something about face palettes and powders that really catch my eye, especially if they are that little bit different.
TOP ROW
Lancôme Juicy Shakers (£18)
One of the most prominent new releases has been the Lancôme Juicy Shakers with their #BanTheBoring social media campaign. I have seen these on so many blogs recently, and after swatching in store, I need at least one in my makeup bag. I love the ease of a non-sticky gloss, especially if it is moisturising too, and this oil formula looks perfect. There is such a choice of colours. At the moment I am leaning towards Freedom of Peach or Berry In Love.
Benefit Dew The Hoola (£22.50)
My skin has been a lot drier recently, especially on the cheeks, so the idea of a cream, or liquid, bronzer really appeals to me. Benefit's new drop of liquid blush, bronze and highlight products looks amazing, and amongst them is Dew The Hoola, a liquid version of their cult Hoola bronzer. I love the powder version as it is a great matte shade that can double up as both bronzer and contour, and I'm intrigued to swatch the liquid version as a lot of cream bronzers that I have seen have been very orange in tone. I think liquid-based formulas look a lot more natural on the skin, and feel a lot lighter, so this will be great for spring and summer.
Having not heard much about this product, I was really interested after spotting it in Debenhams. The Candlelight Glow Powder is a duo of highlighters, which swatched gorgeously. What really got me excited was the fact that it comes in two colourways, Warm Glow and Rosy Glow. Having cooler-toned pale skin means that a lot of highlighters are either too dark or too bronzey to give that proper highlighting "pop". Rosy Glow comes with a white highlight and a pink, both of which have a duochrome effect with a cooler-toned sheen. I also think £25 is really good value for two shades from a high-end brand.
I have been looking for a hydrating primer for a while now as my skin seemingly eats up my foundation leaving it looking patchy and flaky. It's actually pretty tricky to find hydrating primers that don't have an element of radiance to them, which I want to avoid as I still get a shiny T-zone. This one felt really silky and smooth whilst still being lightweight due to the coconut water infusion.
BOTTOM ROW
Contouring is perhaps the most prolific beauty trend of this decade so far, so it was inevitable that specific contouring products would trickle into the drugstore. There are a lot of powder products available, but the Infallible Sculpt Contour Palette is still one of the only cream-based products at an affordable price point. The colour of the light/medium contour shade is cool enough for pale skin, accompanied by a matte cream highlight. It has a cream to powder formula, which blends out easily, and looks like it would be pretty long-lasting too.
Yet another highlighter, and this time it's the turn of my favourite British fashion house, Burberry. Every year, they bring out a palette inspired by their runway collection, and this season it is a highlighting powder adorned with a beautiful lace pattern. This comes in gold or white, and like the Too Faced, it is great to see more products on the market that are suitable for paler girls.
By Terry is one of those luxury makeup brands that I would love to own, yet the price puts me off every single time. A face palette done well can be used every single day, much like my beloved NARS One Shocking Moment Palette (read the review here), and more than deserves the higher price tag. The Sun Designer Palette is an all-in-one face palette, which includes shades for bronzing, blush and highlighting. It comes in two different tones, Tan Flash Cruise, which includes some amazing bright blushes, or Light Tan Vibes (pictured above) which is perfect for every day use.
Becca Blushed Radiance Kit (£28)
This is one of the things that I'm most excited about simply because it's such amazing value. You probably don't get your money's worth gram for gram, but to be able to try four Becca products for less than £30 is amazing. I personally am a Becca virgin, despite being almost tempted by Champagne Pop many a time. In this kit, you get minis of the Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed in Opal, the Shimmering Skin Perfector Spotlight Wand in Moonstone, the Backlight Priming Filter and a Mineral Blush in Flowerchild. I'm adding mine to my basket as we speak...
