The First Days of Summer with JewelleryBox

9 May 2016

JewelleryBox is one of those brands that I had seen on countless blogs so when an email from their lovely PR pinged into my inbox, I was really excited! JewelleryBox is an online accessories brand based in South London, who specialise in gorgeously understated pieces for the price of costume jewellery. One of the things that I love about the brand is the adorable packaging! Each piece of jewellery comes in a cute little brown box, adorned with the jewellerybox.co.uk logo, and inside you have the jewellery on a card with a little colourful peg! The packaging just makes the brand really stand out and it's so Instagrammable!

When I saw that it was sunny out, I couldn't wait to get in the garden for a chilled old Sunday, and of course to photograph the lovely pieces of jewellery. Summer is hands down my favourite season, and I'm so excited to be able to enjoy it properly, working from home this year. Sunday was the first day of the year that I braved a sleeveless top after being wrapped up in jumpers all winter, and it was glorious. The air was warm, with the scent of barbecues near. I spent the afternoon reading magazines, sipping ice cold orange and mango juice alongside a playlist of summery tunes. I'm loving Drake's One Dance at the moment!

I wore an aqua patterned sleeveless shirt that I got last year from Primark. It is a bit too sheer, which is why I haven't worn it until now, so I think it'll just be an "around the house" number. I also popped on my new sunglasses, which were another bargain from Primark! Yes, they feel like they're about to snap any minute, but it's better than paying Dior prices that's for sure!

I also took the opportunity to test out a liquid lipstick I'd had sitting in my makeup bag untouched for weeks. It was the MUA Luxe Velvet Lip Lacquer (£3) in the shade Tranquility. When I first applied it, I thought that it wasn't going to suit me at all, being a really orangey nude. However when it dried down I really started to like it. It lasted well through food and felt really lightweight on the lips. I was surprised at how matte it looked too. I've just got one of the Kylie Lip Kits, but I'm so impressed with this budget offering!

Anyway, back onto JewelleryBox, I received a selection of pieces from the brand's Sterling silver range. My favourite piece out of the four is the Silver Wishbone Pendant* (£7.75). I've wanted a wishbone necklace for such a long time, and I'm so happy I've finally got one! This is the perfect way to finish off an outfit, it just looks so chic. The pendant feels good quality, and has a really shiny finish, making it look a lot more expensive than it is! The only downside is the chain length. I didn't get to choose the length, and this is 18" which is a bit too long for me as I don't wear low cut tops. I actually had to pull it up at the back to get it in the frame of the photographs! I think this length would be perfect with my high neck tops though.

I also have the Silver Adjustable Infinity Midi Ring* (£7.65). I have child sized fingers so can never usually find rings to fit. In fact, if a PR offers to send me a ring, my response is usually "No don't!". Thankfully this one is adjustable, and although it is still too big to be midi sized on me, it is perfect as a normal ring. I was a bit worried about bending the silver, but it actually feels really strong. The infinity design is gorgeous and I think it looks really sophisticated and expensive. I'd love to add some more infinity-style pieces to my collection.

Next I have two bracelets. Well kind of. One of them is actually the Silver Anklet with Small Angel Wing* (£7.55). Friends of mine will vouch for the fact that I have the world's most ugliest feet, so I try to avoid getting them out unless absolutely necessary. I've never been overly into anklets, and I kind of wish my wrists weren't like a 5 year old's so I could wear this as a bracelet because the teeny wing detailing is so cute! It was actually so hard to capture on camera, so I didn't manage to get any photos that did it justice sadly.

The one that is actually meant to be worn on the wrist is the Silver V Charm Bracelet* (£6.45). This has the daintiest chevron charm, which gives it such a unique shape. I kind of wish the charm was a bit heavier though, as it does tend to twist round quite a bit. I do love the simplicity of this piece however, which makes it perfect for everyday wear.

JewelleryBox is such a lovely brand. I'm so pleased with my pieces, I've worn them so much already! The designs are gorgeous and I love that the pieces are simple enough to pair with any outfit. The quality feels really good and at such bargain prices, you won't feel guilty about buying one of every colour! I'll be kitting myself out with all their rose gold next!

I'd love to know which is your favourite piece of jewellery!
