January Beauty Favourites

So here it is, the first Favourites post of 2017! I actually skipped doing a December favourites last month, as I didn't have many products that I loved, and so in its place was the 2016 Favourites post, the annual run down of my favourite beauty products of the year. I've been on a bit of a spending/hoarding ban, so I didn't pick up many new products during December, but I ended up getting a few new things for Christmas, as well as a couple of beauty PR packages earlier this month, so I've been trying out a ton of new things lately. I've found a couple of products that I've been loving, so much so that I've been really excited for this post so I can talk about them!

In December, the palette that I was loving was the Maybelline The Nudes Palette*. It doesn't have the greatest pigmentation, but what that means is that it's the most fool-proof palette, with a great mix of neutral shades, all of which blend seamlessly for an easy eye look. However something that stole the crown was the Rose Gold Palette from Crown Brushes (sorry for the awful pun), which I got for Christmas. This one has 35 shades, a great mix of warm-toned mattes and shimmers. Every shade I've tried so far has been ace, with the shimmers being highly pigmented and buttery, and the mattes really easy to blend. There something in there to create both a minimal eye look or a more intense smoky eye.
I've also finally found my perfect liquid liner, the Kat Von D Tattoo Liner in Trooper. Its artist style brush means you can get so close to the lash line with minimal effort, and it's really easy to work with, although I do still struggle with the flicks - one eye always goes a bit skew-whiff. The Tattoo Liner combined with the Rose Gold Palette means that my eyeshadow game has never been so strong!
For lips, I've been reaching for one of the new Maybelline Shaping Lip Liners* a lot. The shade Nude Whisper just a great neutral liner, with a creamy formula and a precise, twist up nib. I've also been enjoying the Kat Von D Studded Kisses Lipstick - Lolita is the first shade I've tried from this range and I adore the formula, creamy, highly pigmented and easy to apply, plus the colour is beautiful too. Lolita is like a terracotta nude - there's a bit more colour going on than a traditional nude shade, but it still looks quite neutral on the lips and not too OTT.

There's a new base product in my life, one that I discovered at the Estée Lauder and Debenhams event earlier in the month, and it's none other than the Doublewear Foundation. I've got a 7-day sample of it at the moment and I've got a lot of time for it. I apply a small amount and it blends in seconds with a beauty blender, giving a flawless finish in no time. I was colour-matched to the shade 1N2 Ecru, and it's a really good match for my skintone. I'd definitely recommend getting matched at a counter, they use a special imaging tool that will identify your perfect shade.
I've also been really loving Estée Lauder Skincare, and there are 3 products that have fit seamlessly in my routine. I'm planning a full post once I've tested the products is a bit longer. The first product is one that I've tried before, and have been very much enjoying having it back is the Advanced Night Repair serum*, as well as the Advanced Night Repair Eye* and the Nightwear Plus Detox Creme*. I've been really impressed with the products and I'm slowly adding more and more to my wishlist, oops!
The last product is one that I couldn't not mention, the Alaia Paris Eau de Parfum. I finally got a full size bottle for Christmas and I've pretty much worn it every single time I've left the house in January. I swear I fall in love with its cosy scent more and more with each time I wear it! It is based on the idea of the hot sun on the terracotta tiles in Tunisia, and has notes of mountain air, pink pepper, freesia, peony, leather, musk and violet. It's quite a strong, wintry fragrance, and I love the way the leather notes settle on my skin. Do be warned though, this has quite a ferocious spritz that shoots out!
What have you been loving throughout January?
