Song of the Week: Waves (Robin Schulz Remix) - Mr. Probz

I can't believe this is the tenth Song of the Week! This week's offering is Waves (Robin Schulz remix) by Dutch rapper, Mr Probz, born Dennis Princewell Stehr. Mr Probz has had a tough time, being shot in Amsterdam in 2010. Despite this, he continued his music. Waves was originally released in 2013, but was remixed this year by German DJ Robin Schulz, to enjoy UK success and a No.1 charting.

The remix is a complete chill out tune, conjuring up images of lazy days at the beach. Its housey echoes would not be out of place in Ibiza, and lift the slower original with a steady beat. Mr Probz's voice is mellow, velvety and complex, and I hope that this is not the last we hear from him! This tune is pure class and will earn it's place on many summer playlists of 2014.
