Winter Sunday Rituals

9 November 2014

To me, Sunday is a day of relaxation. More often than not, Sunday is laundry day, which also means fresh bedsheets! My Sunday starts off with a little lie in, and a trip down the road to Lidl to pick up one of their freshly baked blueberry muffins. I always burn Yankee Candle Berrylicious, dubbed The Sunday Morning Candle, as it smells exactly like I've baked the muffins myself. I usually pair the muffin with a cosy cappuccino, or an earl grey tea.

Since I've lived on my own, a Sunday roast has become a rare affair. The afternoon usually lends its self to marathon box-set watching (at the moment I'm loving Girls), or getting stuck into my mammoth reading list! Now that it's getting closer to winter, I'm loving wrapping up warm in a cosy knit, and sitting by the fire with a good book. Today I'm getting stuck into One Chance, One Moment, by Judith Kohnen.

Sunday evening is typically pamper night. I take a long, hot shower, using my favourite me-time products. I give my skin a little treat with a face mask. At the minute, I'm trialing the REN Flash Rinse 1 Minute Facial (review here). I'll pop on some cute cosy PJs and catch up with some of my favourite blogs and you tube channels. For Sunday bedtime reading, I'd recommend any of the blogs from my amazing November advertisers, Mimi Flys, AliceAllure and Lipstick & Bubbles.

Of course any Sunday does not come without a Sunday playlist. This week I'm loving the soundtrack to the John Lewis Christmas ad, Real Love by Tom Odell, as well as the gorgeous Dreams by Bastille, featuring Gabrielle Aplin.

What do you like to do on a cosy Sunday?

  1. Nothing beats the smell of fresh baking, especially on a Sunday morning. Bliss.
