Apart from a brief love affair with their One Heck of a Blot powder, I'm a relative stranger to the cosmetics side of Soap & Glory. I spotted their Gloss Sticks, in their popular Sexy Mother Pucker line on offer, and after a quick swatch, decided to pick up a few shades. The shades in question? Nudist, a lovely pinky nude, and Technicoral, an awesome bright orangey pink.
The Sexy Mother Pucker Gloss Sticks promise 3D volume and shine. They have that whole Chubby Stick vibe about them, but one of the things that makes them unique is their lipstick bullet-style tapered tip, which really comes into play when combining the brighter shades with cupids bow application. The formula is creamy and hydrating yet packing in glossy buildable colour that can be layered from a sheer wash to bold and bright. Because they layer so well, they are pretty much foolproof, and you could even get away with doing a light application without a mirror. The Soap & Glory Gloss Sticks do have an element of stickiness, which is what moves them into the gloss territory. They still feel really comfortable on the lips, and there's no risk of the dreaded 'wind + hair = nightmare' situation.
I particularly like the shades of these Gloss Sticks. Nudist is reminiscent of one of the Rimmel Colour Rush Balms I fell in love with but oxidised weirdly on my lips, so I'm ecstatic to have found an alternative. I love that Technicoral is so unlike anything else in my collection. It is a particularly easy way to approach a bright lip which usually requires copious amounts of liner and layers of lipstick, and the paranoia that the lipstick has migrated halfway across your face. The fact that Technicoral has this amazing luminous quality makes it really quite unique, and amazing for summer.

For just £3.50, these Soap & Glory Gloss Sticks are handbag heroes. They are products you can slap on easily without a mirror, especially the nude. Also in the collection are three other shades: Pink Punch (a bright raspberry), Pinkaboo (a more muted pink) and Purple Rain (a deep plum). At this price you can afford to pick up all the shades, and I know I'll be heading back to Boots to grab Pink Punch, as well as their new One Heck of a Blot Primer. Oh, and about 50 million other products...
