Rosie Huntington-Whitely Rosie for Autograph Nuit Parfum

British model, actress and all round girl-crush, Rosie Huntington-Whitely has been the name on everybody's lips recently due to the recent launch of her makeup range with M&S. The rose-gold adorned beauty line follows her two fragrances, Rosie for Autograph and Rosie for Autograph Nuit Parfum. I picked up the latter, half price in the Black Friday sales, after falling in love with it on a previous shopping trip.

Rosie for Autograph Nuit Parfum (from £14 for 30ml) was released in the second half of 2015 as a more seductive version of Rosie's debut fragrance, Rosie for Autograph. The scent mirrors Rosie's vintage femininity, as well as giving off an air of her bohemian spirit. The bottle is beautiful, made from deep purple glass with an ombre look that really comes to life when held up to the light. The rose gold lid and name plate tops off the design to make it fit seamlessly with the rest of the Rosie for Autograph beauty line.

THE 'NUIT PARFUM' EXPERIENCE

The scent opens with juicy blackcurrant and fresh bergamot which, juxtaposed with the softer peony, creates an addictive dark sweetness. It is at this point that I fell in love with Nuit Parfum in store. As soon as I tested the scent at home, I was disappointed. I didn't get that same magic as I did in store, and that delicious blackcurrant and rose cocktail just didn't come through until a few wears later. Instead, we skipped straight to the heart and base notes, a myriad of florals mixed with musk that creates a rose-scented powder on my skin. It is at this point where the powderiness becomes overpowering, and even though it pains me to say, I wanted to scrub it off.

On some wears, I do get a fleeting visit of the sweet berry opening, and it is then that I remember what could of been, the hope I had for this scent. We get a glimpse of sweet seduction, but that is where it ends. Rose is stereotypically a 'granny' scent, and that is a statement I profoundly disagree with, but the rose in this runs into Yardley territory pretty quickly and has me running a mile.

Unfortunately Rosie for Autograph Nuit Parfum isn't to my taste, so won't be going into my daily rotation of scents. Although I like the blackcurrant notes, it was way too powdery on my skin, and I think this scent would work better as a bath product. I think if this were an eau de toilette it would work better for me, but for now, I'll just stick to Stella McCartney Stella, which has very similar citrus and rose notes. Of course that is just my opinion, and it might still work for you. Rosie for Autograph Nuit Parfum is availble from M&S from £14 for 30ml.

I'd love to know if you've tried this perfume whether you like it!
