The Youth Preservation Moisturiser boasts an impressive list of ingredients and technologies that sets it apart from the rest. It claims to be the only brand using 3 different weights of Hyaluronic acid, allowing the skin to hold water not only at surface level, but also deeper at the epidermis and dermis too. It also prevents spots and blemishes due to containing Primal Hyal 300, which activates the skins defences, fighting off bacteria.
There is also Matrixyl Sythe-6, which is clinically shown to reduce wrinkles and rebuild the skin, as well as Mangosteen extract, Baobab and Vitamin E to counteract the effects of pollution and environmental stress, leaving skin looking youthful and radiant. To add to the list, Echium (a plant source of Omega 3, 6, 9) and Crambe Oils are combined with a complex of Natural Moisturising Factors (NMFs) to give long lasting hydration, and of course there is SPF 20. This is presented using three different UVA/UVB filters to protect the skin.
My skin has changed recently from being very oily to being more combination/dry, so I've found it a challenge to adapt my skincare, especially when it comes to moisturisers. I instantly fell in love with the Youth Preservation Moisturiser, and it fit seamlessly into my routine. It is lightweight, whilst still being rich enough to keep my skin hydrated all day, and I think it would suit most skin types. It isn't at all greasy, so also works extremely well under makeup, and the added sun protection is perfect for this time of year when it's not necessarily hot enough to warrant a standalone SPF but still want to protect the skin a little.
I love the re-branded packaging, which is both hygienic and sleek. The only negative is the scent, which although it contains their signature Merumaya essence, it can be a little strong at times, and often lingers on my hands. This is by no means a deal-breaker and I am still very impressed with the Youth Preservation Moisturiser SPF 20, which has proven to be a strong addition to the Merumaya range. I definitely recommend checking it out if you are in the market for a new moisturiser.
