Bagsy: The Beauty Brand That Is Perfect For Gifting

Bagsy Lip Velvet Spinning Plates

Bagsy is a relatively new cruelty free brand, which aims to be an edit of the best everyday beauty, with beautiful packaging, all designed for throwing in your handbag. It caters for the modern woman's needs, offering innovative products that are both time and space saving. Bagsy products are available from both Debenhams and Feel Unique, and they also stock some beautiful makeup bags, as well as hair products, hand cream, and anything else you'd need for on-the-go. I've been trying out three products from the range for a couple of weeks now, and it's time for my verdict...

Bagsy Ray of Sunshine Bronzer

The first product is the Ray of Sunshine Bronzer* (£18) in Medium/Dark, which comes beautifully packaged in a little pouch, perfect for carrying around in your bag. The bronzer has a matte finish, which is what I always look for. It is a darker shade than I would usually pick for myself, but it is really nice for adding some colour to the skin. It has a warm, rich tone, which I could imagine complementing darker complexions perfectly, but even on my pale skin it isn't at all orangey. It blends really nicely onto the skin and has the perfect level of pigmentation. I'm quite impressed with this product, and I'm definitely going to be pulling this shade out in the summer.

Next is the product that I was most excited to try, the Lip Velvet* (£12) in Spinning Plates. This is a matte liquid lipstick, and I feel like I am more than qualified to judge this as I have tried a lot of liquid lipsticks in my time. Usually I am a fan of formulas that dry down to a budge-proof finish, but this is one of the non-drying liquid lipsticks, similar to the NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams. It contains lightweight emollients to keep lips soft and hydrated, and I found it was really comfortable on the lips.

It comes in gorgeously sleek packaging, which reminds me a lot of the Hourglass liquid lipsticks, and has a doe foot applicator. I find you don't get that much on the applicator, so it takes a while to build up the colour on the lips. It is definitely on the more sheer side of things for a liquid lipsticks, but Spinning Plates is a gorgeous "my lips but better" shade that would suit a lot of people.

The Lip Velvet lasts a couple of hours on the lips, and you'll need to reapply after food, but it's a nice dinky size that you won't mind throwing it in your handbag. One thing I would like to see Bagsy doing a little pouch for the lip products like with the bronzer. I do really like this product, but I think you need to remove all thoughts of it being a traditional liquid lipstick out of your head before you can really judge it.

The Wonder Wand* (£18) is a dual purpose product with one half of the pencil being a concealer, the other a highlighter. The concealer is slighter darker than I would use for my skin tone, but does work for me under the eyes as kind of  a corrector as it has a warm peach tone. It is creamy and blendable, and would potentially also work on blemishes if the shade works for you. I never use stick concealers but this one really surprised me! The highlighter is a neutral pearly shade that works particularly well on smaller areas like the brow bone, inner corners of the eyes, cupids bow and down the nose. When using this on my cheeks, I found that I'd get a line of the concealer too, so it's probably best kept for smaller areas. The shade is subtle, so perfect for everyday. I can see why a product like this would be great for travel.

Overall, I am impressed with Bagsy Beauty, although I think the price point is slightly too high for what they are. I think they have some lovely products, and I'm definitely going to be throwing the Lip Velvet into my everyday rotation, as well as saving the bronzer for summer (and realistically, when I've used some of the 50000000 bronzers I own). One thing that really does stand out is the packaging, both of the products and the outer-packaging, and it really does lend itself really well to gifting, especially the Lip Velvet as you could hang it on your tree! I feel like a lot of people would really love to find a few of these products in their stocking! They've also just released a collaboration with Savannah Miller, which looks really exciting!

Have you ever tried Bagsy Beauty?
