The Nude Lip Line-Up

The Lipstick Edit

I have SO many lipsticks in my collection, but I have the tendency to just reach for the same few, instead of switching things up and using different products. I used to post seasonal Lipstick Edits (like this one) but I wanted to post them a little more frequently, inspired by Sally's My Week In Lipsticks posts. I don't wear makeup often enough to do them weekly, so I'm settling for The Lipstick Edit instead. Think of it as a run-down of 5 of the lipsticks I've reached for recently... P.S. I did try to photograph swatches, but they all looked the same and the image above gives a better representation of the shades.

Stark Naked is the most browny nude of my edit, it gives a bit of a 90's matte lip look and I chose this as it matched the camel hue of the sweater I was wearing. I paired it with the Rimmel Lip Liner in Tiramisu, which was a great match for it. The Comfort Matte formula is gorgeous: pigmented, creamy and not at all drying on the lips, it gets a big thumbs up from me and I definitely want to pick up a few more shades!

This is one that I mentioned in a favourites recently and I just can't stop reaching for it. I'd dismissed this shade for so long due to the pearl finish, but decided to pull it back out recently due to the popularity of metallic lips. Don't let that put you off as it is a gorgeous browny pink with rosy red undertones. It really adds a bit of life back into your face! I always keep it in my handbag as it goes with most makeup looks and isn't too much of a faff to apply on the go.

I feel like I'm forever in the search of the perfect liquid lipstick, and one of my favourites on the more affordable end of the spectrum is the NYX Lip Lingerie. The formula does vary according to the shade: I also have Satin Ribbon and it's no where near as pigmented and long-lasting. Bedtime flirt is a gorgeous mid-toned pink that won't need too much of a touch-up if you fancy a messy burger (Meatcure is my fave lunch spot!).

Proof that I actually use this lipstick and I didn't just buy it to look pretty in blog photos! I grabbed this in a rush for an easy lip look. It's such a go-to for its hydrating formula, flattering pink shade and oh, the packaging *heart eyed emoji*. If I'm not using it as a prop, it tends to live in my handbag as it doubles up as a lip balm when I have dry lips.

Just like the YSL, this is such a great lipstick to throw in your handbag and apply on the go. It is a lovely pinky nude shade that again, seems to go with everything. It's not the longest lasting lipstick in the world but I don't mind re-applying as you don't really need a mirror for this one. The Lasting Finish lipsticks are a dream to apply and the satin finish is really comfortable to wear. I want to check out more of the shades!
