Makeup Revolution Iconic 3 Palette

13 April 2015

Makeup Revolution is a brand I've followed pretty much since they started out a little over a year ago. This palette is the sole reason I think I even discovered the brand, and ordered it ASAP. Unless you're pretty clueless, you'll be able to tell instantly that the Redemption Iconic 3 (£4) is a dupe for the Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette, except this at a tenth of the price. As fabbity fab as the Iconic 3 palette is (shade of perfection, amazing pigmentation), it ended up at the bottom of my drawer, until I recently rediscovered it. There are so many amazing shades to work with: mattes for blending out and crease work, beautiful taupes to rival MAC and more smokier shades. It really is a versatile palette.

I created this look using the Iconic 3 palette, which I think is perfect for daytime, but can also be smoked up more for sexy night time chic. The shades don't have names, but I'll attempt to walk you through how I created this look.  I primed my lids with the Urban Decay Primer Potion, then used the lightest shimmery pink shade over the whole lid. I took the deeper of the two purpley matte shades and buffed that into my crease. I intensified the crease further with a mix of the deep grey shade, and a hint of the black with purple shimmer. I also took this under my eye to tie the look together. Finally, I used the brightest shimmery pink shade and the gold shade mixed together with a wet brush on the centre of the lid to make the eye pop.

Finally to finish off the look I added some winged liner. I'm forever recommending the L'OrĂ©al Superliner Perfect Slim. Curl the lashes and add a volumising mascara, like the Benefit They're Real. You can also add some lashes if you're wearing this look for a night out. My absolute top tip with this palette is to use the matte cream shade to blend out the crease as your final step. This gives an amazing professional, airbrushed finish. I have to say, for that reason it is one of my most used shades!

I'd wholeheartedly recommend the Iconic 3 palette as it is so versatile for day and night. There's a range of finishes with some great quality shadows, and you don't get much more better this for just £4! Makeup Revolution have some other amazing dupes and there's an order I've been dying to make for a good few months - watch this space!

  2. Thanks darling! Oh coincidence. It's great as a travel friendly option if you've already got the Naked 3 too :)
